Support Fund

Mount Green residents who are struggling to make ends meet during the current cost of living crisis are being offered a financial lifeline.

We have set up two dedicated funding pots to support residents to cope with the impact of the rising costs of food, fuel and other household bills.

The Breathing Space Fund is for people who rent our homes and the Shared Owners Support Fund is for people who part-own, part-rent their homes.

The aim is to provide temporary, short-term financial assistance to residents unable to afford basic necessities due to a significant change in their circumstances. This might be losing your job, family breakdown, unexpected essential bills or benefit delays.

Grants, made on a case-by-case basis, can pay a resident’s rent for up to two months and are paid into your rent account.

In exceptional circumstances, grants can pay for goods or services. Residents receiving full housing benefit or shared owners not in rent arrears, but still in financial hardship, may be considered for a one-off payment of up to £300 instead of a payment to their rent account.

We have launched the funds as part of our wider support for residents, which includes our Welfare Benefit Officer who provides information and advice  relating to budgeting, benefits and other sources of funding.
